Helen Langehanenberg (Germany):
“I had a great feeling during the test. During the warm-up he was a little bit wild, but afterwards, I think, he was really in a good shape and when we entered the arena he was ready to perform. He was really with me, made no mistakes. We enjoyed the test and had fun and I hope the judges and the public did as well. “
Isabel Werth (Germany):
“I am really happy with ‘Ernie’ (Isabell’s nickname for El Santo), he did a real good test. At the end, before the pirouettes, he came a bit more backwards, but we could solve that . But no big mistakes and I am confident for tomorrow. “
Edward Gal (Netherlands):
“My horse was very hot in the paddock today. In the arena it was better, but still he was too tense to let him go full in, for example, the extensions. It are small details but they cost points in a Final. I know my horse can be too tense in the arena, but it was less during the last two shows, so I hope it will be better tomorrow. The arena is very big here, there is movement, sound and although he is already 10-years-old he is still very sensitive and he has to get used to it.’
Marc Boblet (France):
“The atmosphere in the arena is extraordinary. The colours have been changed for this Final and they, as well as the lighting, are very comfortable for the riders. But we are in France, so I feel at home with the public behind me who don’t want me to make mistakes, so it all went for me. My mare is always a bit hot during the first test, she has to find her way and that is not always easy. But we are getting to know each other, she really starts to understand what I want from her and I am very happy with our test.
There is a fabulous competitor field here and I don’t feel any pressure because if I look at the level of the other riders I do not have the pretention to have the same experience and technique. The pressure is more of wanting to do well and wanting to show that you do well and want to go further.”
Hans Peter Minderhoud (Netherlands):
“I am very happy with my horse today. It was his fifth or sixth international Grand Prix, he is fairly new in the circuit and he did the best he can so I can not complain. During the last few shows we sometimes made mistakes but I know it can be correct and efficient as it was today, that’s why I chose him to compete at the final.”
