Canada: Karen Pavicic and Don Daiquiri Continue to Earn Great Scores in Europe

With her 2014 World Equestrian Games declared mount, Don Daiquiri, a 12-year-old Oldenberg gelding sired by Don Cardinale, Karen Pavicic of Surrey, BC, competed at Achleiten CDI4*, June 12–15, in Achleiten, AUT.

The pair received a score of 68.000 % for their Grand Prix for Freestyle and then earned 71.025 % for their Freestyle.

“I am so proud of Don Daiquiri. He keeps getting better and better. He is truly the horse of a lifetime for me and I feel so fortunate to have him,” said Pavicic, who co-owns Don Daiquiri with Jayne Essig. “The Achleiten CDI 4* was a fantastic experience. It is extremely well run at a beautiful venue, with a super atmosphere for both horses and riders.”

“I would like to express my sincere appreciation to all who have made this possible for us, including my supportive family, friends and sponsors. Our success thus far is greatly attributed to the many kind people who have helped us, and I am looking forward to what the future will bring,” she added.

The international judging panel for Achleiten CDI4* included Katrina Wuest (GER 5*), Annette Fransén Iacobeaus (SWE 5*), Francis Verbeek-von Rooy (NED 5*), Thomas Lang (AUT 5*), Martin Richenhagen (GER 4*) and Elisabeth Koffmahn (AUT 4*).
