Sad news from France: Ex-Olympic show jumper Hubert Bourdy has lost his fight against cancer and died at the age of 57 years. Bourdy has been an excellent rider, trainer and horse dealer. He had achieved lots of international successes such as:
- team bronze medal at the Olympic Games in Seoul 1988 with Morgat and Barcelona 1992 with Razzia du Poncel
- individual bronze medal and team gold medal at the world championships in Stockholm in 1990 with Morgat
- winner of the Grand-Prix at the World Cup in Bordeaux
- 7th at the European championships in Arnheim in 2001 with Helios
In 2009, Bourdy said good-bye to international horse sport and concentrated on his horse dealing business.
