As the summer tour in Europe draws to a close, Nordic Lights Farm and Eirin Bruheim competed with elite riders at the first ever Stephex Masters in Europe. Last week, Bruheim brought two of her incredible show jumping mounts to the exciting new event to showcase their talents.

In a field of top international combinations, amateur rider, Bruheim tripped the timers at a swift 60.91 seconds with NLF Newsflash in the 1.30m on Thursday. This impressive and clean round earned her the 11th spot in a field of 64. In the same day, she had a promising effort on her mount NLF Favorite in the challenging 1.40m class.

Her success did not stop there, as Bruheim and NLF Newsflash claimed a top 20 finish on Friday, in a field of almost 75 horses with a time of 64.58 seconds. Bruheim was overjoyed about their performance in such a competitive field of riders.

“Newsflash jumped the lower section of the large tour and garnered great places everyday,” Bruheim said. “I was really able to step up this summer and the 2* was great for my horse’s confidence and mine.”

On Saturday, she finished in the top half of the 1.40m field, crossing the finish line at 44.46 seconds on NLF Favorite. NLF Newsflash also had an honest effort in 1.35m in a notable 58.82 seconds.

To close out the season, Bruheim and NLF Favorite made a lasting impression in the 1.45m with a top 20 finish.

“This show was a great way to wrap up my European tour,” Bruheim said. “Taking my horses to Europe was a completely new experience to me and the two of them. Favorite and Flash are young and low on mileage. It made competing more fulfilling because I see very well what the work behind the scenes translates to the show ring. The tour was short this year, but I think I learned a great deal I can take with me from this trip.”

Nordic Lights Farm is a 70-acre establishment located in Tomball, TX, that was founded in 2007 by the Bruheim family to help further the equestrian goals of 20-year-old Eirin Bruheim and 18-year-old Lene Bruheim. Both girls have worked their way up through the ranks and are currently competing at the top levels in the hunter and jumper divisions aboard their incredible string of horses.
