Co-Sponsorship by Double H Farm and Windsor Show Stables Increases Prize Money to $100,000 for American Gold Cup Qualifier CSI4*-W

The American Gold Cup, managed by Stadium Jumping along with Old Salem Farm, is delighted to announce that the prize money for the qualifier for the 2013 American Gold Cup CSI4*-W has been increased from $50,000 to $100,000. This increase is thanks to the generous co-sponsorship by Double H Farm and Windsor Show Stables. The $100,000 American Gold Cup Qualifier presented by Double H Farm and Windsor Show Stables will be held on Friday, September 13, 2013, at the scenic grand prix field at Old Salem Farm in North Salem, NY. Top finishers of the qualifier will determine the field for the $200,000 American Gold Cup, Presented by Suncast, an FEI World Cup Qualifying Competition CSI4*-W.

“We are proud to sponsor at the American Gold Cup and help increase the prize money for Friday’s qualifying grand prix,” said Cayce Harrison of Double H Farm. “We believe that the American Gold Cup is a special event and we want to help support this show, keep it relevant in our grand prix schedule, and give something back to the industry. We believe it will be another fantastic year and look forward to showing at Old Salem Farm in September.”

Pan American Games Gold Medalist Christine McCrea agreed. “We really appreciate a great show and a nice facility, with great management,” the 2011 medalist of Windsor Show Stables said.  ”The show is practically in our backyard and we want to support it. We decided to sponsor the class to make it more special – to have the qualifier for the grand prix be a little more money so that it will draw more competitors.”

McCrea won the $50,000 American Gold Cup qualifier last year aboard Romantovich Take One in 2012 and, in 2006, won the American Gold Cup with Vegas.

“I look forward to jumping in that beautiful field,” McCrea said. “We are going to bring a bunch of our horses to compete. We don’t have many FEI events in our country, so I’m very excited.”

Michael Morrissey, President of Stadium Jumping,  is thrilled with the increased prize money for the iconic show. “The American Gold Cup thanks Double H and Windsor Show Stables for their generous sponsorship, support and participation,” he said. “With the increased prize money, we expect an even more impressive turnout of world-class competitors.
