Later in the evening, two more stallions were declared keur: Florencio I and Sir Sinclair.
Wim Ernes explained the reasons for awarding the prestigious predicate to each stallion: “Sir Sinclair was purchased by an American buyer at the KWPN Select Sale for €360,000. In his new homeland, he is a popular sire and has produced numerous attractive and successful offspring. He also has many good offspring in the Netherlands. Although he can’t be here, he is represented in this ceremony by his son Washington DC, who competes in the Intermediaire II under Cindy Heijligers. Sir Sinclair is a Lord Sinclair I son. Monica Drohm bred Sir Sinclair out of her preferent sport ster mare Krishna.”
Florencio, registered to Team Nijhof, was present for the occasion. The handsome stallion showed off in hand, demonstrating clearly that he is in his element during public appearances. Wim Ernes: “This is of course a special stallion with two world titles to his name. With Hans Peter Minderhoud in the saddle, he won the World Breeding Championships for Young Dressage Horses twice. His KWPN-approved son Charmeur has inherited his strong genes, as he won the Pavo Cup final in 2012 and now competes successfully in the ZZ-advanced under Madeleine Witte-Vrees.” Another Florencio I son, Borencio, won the Pavo Cup final twice, once as a four-year-old and again as a five-year-old. As a six-year-old, he claimed the silver medal at the World Breeding Championships for Young Dressage Horses in Verden.
