Danish Warmblood: Nine young premium stallions

The licensing committee appointed nine 3-year-old colts as premium stallions. Three of them bred for jumping and six of them from the collection of dressage bred colts

Spokesman of the licensing committee, Poul Graugaard, praised the collection of young stallions at the Danish Warmblood stallion licensing in Herning as the best collection in many years – probably the best collection ever. 23 3-year-olds and two 4-year-olds made up the collection of 25 young stallions approved for the 10-day test prior to receiving their full breeding license for this season.

Prior to the 2015 Danish Warmblood stallion licensing it had been decided not to appoint any champion colts. 25 young stallions were approved and nine of them appointed as premium stallions.

Out of the 25 colts 16 were bred for dressage and 9 for jumping. 6 dressage prospects and 3 jumping prospects were appointed premium stallions. 9 out of the 16 dressage colts are Danish bred (56,25%), and nothing less than 7 out of the 9 jumpers are Danish bred (77,78%).

German Maik Kohlschmidt from Helgstrand Dressage was honoured as the best handler. The prize was presented by H.R.H. Princess Benedikte and Mrs Julie Fjeldborg from Hestens Værn.
