(Hagen a.T.W.) Last Sunday, the Swiss Romain Duguet finished the five-star horse show Saut Hermés au Grand Palais in Paris (FRA) with a victory in the Grand Prix. Now Duguet will compete for the first time at the CSI4*-tournament “Horses & Dreams meets Australia” in Hagen a.T.W. in about eight days.
The mare Quorida de Treho was seven years old when she changed to the stable of Duguet, and it is only their second international season together. “I was very satisfied about “Coco’s” performances in Paris,” the Swiss rider happily says. “It was a lot of work with her, but now it’s starting to pay off.”
Last year’s winner in Paris, Marcus Ehning from Borken, went again on the jump-off with Cornado NRW, picking up four faults to finally finished fifth. Ehning currently occupies the 13th place on the world rankings. He is now going to compete at the World Cup Final in Las Vegas before he will start the German outdoor season at Horses & Dreams at the Hof Kasselmann.
Romain Duguet was born in France. He already won competitions at the age of ten and competed at Nations Cup-events with the French team later on, before he became Swiss citizen in 2012. The 2013 CSI Offenburg was his first international horse show for Switzerland. He participated at his first 5-star event at the Swiss Nations Cup-tournament in St. Gallen where he immediately won the opening competition.
