Jump off thrilling until the very end
The German Philip Weishaupt won the Longines Grand Prix Port of Rotterdam with Monte Bellini after a thrilling jump off. Their ride in this jump off was 0.49 sec faster than Roger Yves Bost (FRA) and Castle Forbes Myrtille Paulois. Third was Kevin Staut and Silvana Hdc. The sold out stadion was holding breath during the ride of the Dutch Gert Jan Bruggink and Primeval Dejavu who jumped the few last fences with only one rein. Belgian Pieter de Vos won the Prix de Vainqueur.
“Monte Bellini likes Rotterdam,” says the excited winner Philipp Weishaupt. “My horse jumped double clear in the Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup last Friday and today again in this Grand Prix. He is in very good shape!”
Director of CHIO Rotterdam Fred Rozendaal is pleased with the past five days. “We enjoyed great sports performed by the best riders and horses of the world. We will know the number of visitors in the coming days but as the tribunes were packed and the interest in hospitality was enormous,” according to Rozendaal.
