After two months’ break due to injury Swedish world class rider Rolf GöranBengtsson started the new year with the victory of the Basel Grand Prix riding his 15-year-old Holstein stallion Ask Casall. The pair presented two excellent clear rounds and could not be beaten by any other combination.
Runner-up was German top rider Ludger Beerbaum with Chiara followed by Marcus Ehning with Cornado.Bengtsson received 110.000.- Swiss francs for the victory; Beerbaum got 80.000.-SFR and Ehning 50.000.-SFR.
