From 23 to 25 January 2014, Munich-Riem will host a stallion licensing, award ceremonies and an accompanying auction

It is the 11th time for the Southern German breeding associations to stage the Southern German Stallion Show at the equestrian facilities of the Olympia-Reitanlage in Munich-Riem. From 23 to 25 January 2014, everything in the Bavarian capital will revolve around the stallions. The quality selection of stallions, which have been thoroughly screened for their health, will be at the centre of attention. On 23 January 2014 at 9 p.m., 79 three- and four-year-old stallions descended from international bloodlines will initially be presented on hard ground. This is followed by the first highlight for dressage fans: from 12 noon, the stallions will be presented running free.

The Friday of the licensing will commence at 9.30 a.m. with the free jumping test, which will last all day with the dressage lot scheduled for the morning. The licensing committee will announce their verdicts right after the walking presentation. On Saturday morning, all licensed stallions that are for sale will be presented on the lunge. This is when the licensing committee is going to select the premium lot of the 2014 licensing, which will be honoured at the following award ceremony. From about 3 p.m., Hendrik Schulze Rückamp will get ready to auction off the more than 40 stallions which are for sale.

It is the fourth time now for Thomas Münch, managing director of Süddeutsche Pferdezuchtverbände Vermarktungs GmbH, the organiser of the event, to be in charge of the stallion show. The 2014 stallion lot fills him with pride: “Once more our collection includes top-class stallions and future sport horses, the pedigrees of which go back to very interesting sires such as Ballous Bellini, Colestus, Black Jack, Cardenio, Carrico, Cellestial, Flipper D‘ Elle, as well as dressage sires such as Ampère, Belissimo M, Bordeaux, Diamond Hit, Johnson and many more. There’s been tremendous demand and interest from all over the world.”

The entire collection of stallions can be viewed online at www.suedpferde.de, where you will also find videos, information on the bloodlines and pedigrees. Interested parties may contact Thomas Münch for further information on his mobile number +49 (0) 170/5649051. Tickets for the stallion show can be ordered online and around the clock at www.muenchenticket.de. Catalogues can be ordered via email from the breeding association’s office at info@suedpferde.de.

Another highlight of the stallion show is the grand gala, which takes place on Friday evening from 8 p.m. The event features emotions and show elements, the award ceremony for the new sports premium stallions as well as the presentation of the Diamond Award. Those wanting to celebrate a bit more will get ample opportunity to get their groove on in the new indoor arena: DJ Bulli is going to put on his best music!

Even those who cannot make it to Munich will get the chance to participate in the Southern German Stallion Show: the online TV station www.clipmyhorse.tv will provide a live broadcast on all days of the show.
